I completed 6 projects in December, 5 of which were clothing, 4 of which were successful! And for the first time, I think I actually knocked some queued projects off the list:
Of the 6 patterns in this picture, I had already made one in November and made another 2 in December. They were the Drop Set Drop Top and the Peach "Flashdance" Sweater.
The fabric is identical for both makes but in different colorways. It's a drapey rayon blend that loves to grow. So while I didn't love the berry striped Drop Top at first, it's since "grown" on me!
My #secretpajamas make for the #littlereddress project proved to be very successful. I even posted about it over on The Monthly Stitch for "speed sewing" month. It was a super fast make.
I was also able to make my husband a Xmas present for all his home brewing tubes. This was a self drafted piece from faux leather. It's designed to hang on a wall.
This was my first time working with this material, and it was pretty easy. I used a longer straight stitch and a walking foot and had zero issues whatsoever. It did, however, take 3 days to make because I wanted it to be as perfect as possible.
I also tried making one of my SWAP patterns, the Vintage Blouse from Simplicity 8452. It requires more room across the back and in the armhole, and definitely more length, so it was put back into the queue for when I have more time and patience.
Finally, I finished the Sunny Dress from the upcoming #sewmystyle challenge. I won't post about it until the end of the month, but here's a sneak peak at the scalloped hem:
This design element makes for some interesting hemming...
All in all, a pretty successful month in spite of the holiday madness!
